Like most Americans, I have the SSN. I don’t recall giving it any thought when I applied, a half-century or so ago. More recently, however, I had to distance myself from the government’s demands when I was told that without a vaxx card, I could no longer be employed (by the federal government, I might add.) Covid taught me a few things.😳
